2012 Allowed Pesticides - Structural

2012 Allowed Pesticides - Structural

The County's goal is to minimize the use of Category III pesticides by giving preference to Eco-exempt products and those approved by the Organic Materials Research Institute (OMRI) or by the National Organic Program for use in organic systems as available and effective.

A note about toxicity categories:

The toxicity category is determined by the most severe toxicity category assigned to the five acute toxicity studies (acute oral, acute dermal, acute inhalation, primary eye irritation, primary skin irritation) or by the presence of methanol in concentrations of 4% or more. The Signal Words and associated toxicity categories are as follows:

Toxicity Category I: Highly toxic and Severely irritating (Label Signal Word = Danger)
Toxicity Category II: Moderately toxic and Moderately irritating (Label Signal Word = Warning)
Toxicity Category III: Slightly toxic and Slightly irritating (Label Signal Word = Caution)
