The Division of Aging issues a Request for Proposals (RFP) or Letter of Intent (LOI)
at least every four (4) years. Funding is available for a range of services with
priorities and funding levels set in consultation with the Marin County Commission on Aging.
Competitive bids are sought from any public, private, profit or not for profit organization
who submits required documents by specified due dates outlined in the RFP.
A Legal Notice is posted in the local press at least 30 days before the deadline for submission of the RFP. A letter to existing subcontractors as well as other social service agencies is sent announcing the availability of funding. If you wish to be placed on the RFP mailing list, contact our office at (415) 473-7118.
Proposals are scored according to evaluation criteria outlined in the RFP by a panel of experts including staff of the Division of Aging and members of the Commission on Aging. The recommendations of the review panel are presented to the Commission on Aging Planning/Executive Committees for review. Recommendations are then presented to the full
Commission for ratification. Final approval for all funding rests with the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
Proposals for all divisions of the County of Marin Health and Human Services department are
published on the same page:
