Dorothea Lange, 1895-1965, is considered one of America's great documentary photographers and photojournalists. She was first recognized for her deeply humane portraits of people suffering through the Great Depression. Her images became icons of that era. Her career was always tied to her compassion and humanitarian dedication. She married the famous Western painter Maynard Dixon and later Paul Schuster Taylor an Economics Professor at U.C. Berkeley. This exhibition is private photographs, many never before exhibited, from her family time at Steep Ravine, just south of Stinson Beach.
